“ Hands down, the best roast duck I’ve had in Central Queensland. The marinade and spice blend were perfectly balanced, enhancing the natural flavour of the duck without overpowering it. Cooked to absolute perfection, the temperature was spot on, delivering that crispy skin while keeping the meat underneath tender, and juicy. An absolute musttry for anyone visiting Rockhampton. You won’t be disappointed ”
“ Drop by on a weekday lunch with no crowds. Spending about $20 per pax. Fried rice very delicious, with some green pea, shrimp and rice. The honey chicken is definitely a winner here, the chicken is crispy and glazed beautifully with the thick honey. Dried chilli beef is crispy too with a little bit of a kick, the flavours of the dishes are brought out by the spices at the side. The shop also carries some basic Asian groceries at a decent price, no harm doing some haidilao steamboat with the food. ”
“ Delicious take away food. Had chicken in tamarind sauce (~ $18) and the satay chicken with egg noodles (~$22 or so). Both were delicious! Especially the egg noodles - they are made crispy.... So good. Would come again. ”
“ Back in Rockhampton for work. Have a craving for roast duck. Got to know this restaurant by words of mouth and decided to buy from them. The restaurant mainly serves Asian recipes and the place is small and cosy. At the side of wall has a frozen section with varieties of frozen food such as dumplings and buns. Ordered a roast duck for takeaway. Me and my roommates loved it! Good roasting skills. Meat remained tender and juicy. Most importantly, it doesn't have a ducky smell. Will definitely buy again. ”
“ After scoping out some local Chinese take away on Google, and double-checking reviews on South-side of Rockhampton. I arrived to a establishment close to the CBD that I was immediately turned off from. After another hasty search online I found "The food shop". And was not disappointed.! After a 7 minute drive into residential Berserker, I found this little gem of a restaurant. After walking in I was immediately put as ease with the clean looks, and Asian groceries on shelves. It just felt right. I ordered the family pack B and took it back to my motel to dine. Well... I would have to say this was the most delicious Chinese take away I have eaten in over a decade! Clean and flavourful, and tasting like a succulent home-cooked Asian meal. I wish I could give this little business 6 stars. But alas I will have to be content with 5. ”

Update : the last three times we have been here, there is less and less meat in the dishes and more and more chunky veggies. Very disappointing. ”
